The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected cultists who were allegedly on a revenge mission over the death of one of their members.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed this on Wednesday, said the suspects (names withheld) were arrested before they would execute their plans of killing some members of their rival group, Aiye confraternity.

He said the suspected cultists were arrested at Mushin Bus Stop by Olosan police operatives, Mushin, with one locally made pistol.

Hundeyin disclosed that they confessed to be members of Eiye confraternity, terrorising Abattoirs in the Agege area of Lagos.

The police spokesman stated that the suspects also confessed that the gun was purchased at Mushin for the purpose of revenging the death of one of their members, who was killed by Aiye members in Abattoir, Agege.

Hundeyin said the arrest of the suspects saved the area of another crisis as there would have been another bloody clash between the two rival groups.

He warned that the police would not tolerate any form of cult activities in Lagos, adding that those who want to practice any kind of violence should either relocate from the state or risk the wrath of the command.
