Police arrest 2 fake soldiers, recover charms in Lagos

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two fake soldiers and recovered charms from them.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known via a statement issued on Friday.

Hundeyin said one of the suspects, Oluwatosin Gabriel, 39, was arrested during the enforcement of a total ban on motorcycles in some parts of the state.

He stated that discreet investigation by the police operatives led to the arrest of the second suspect, Nurudeen Agboola, 35, who allegedly is a supplier of military uniforms.

The police spokesperson said items recovered from the fake soldier and his supplier included four pairs of military camouflage uniform, nine live cartridges, military identity cards, police accoutrements, and charms.

Hundeyin noted that an investigation was ongoing to establish the extent of the suspects’ criminality, adding that the arrested fake soldiers would be arraigned after the conclusion of the investigation.
