The operatives of the Borno State Police Command have arrested nine #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters for allegedly displaying Russian flags in Maiduguri, the state capital.
The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Yusuf Lawal, made this known while providing a situation report in Maiduguri on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Lawal disclosed that the protesters were arrested in the Zannari Tamsu area of Gwange Ward, Maiduguri, on Monday, August 5.
He said: “The protesters were apprehended in Maiduguri for carrying Russian flags.
“The suspects were transferred to the Crack Squad for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.”

The police commissioner stated that the situation of the protest had remained calm, adding that the police would continue to monitor and patrol the area to ensure public safety.
The operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command had also arrested 39 suspected hoodlums, including the tailor producing Russian flags during the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest in the state.
The arrests came after President Bola Tinubu directed security agencies to crack down on protesters flying Russian flag in the country.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after the National Security Council meeting in Abuja on Monday.
