Police arrest Lebanese for crushing lady’s leg in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested a middle-aged Lebanese, John Greg, who allegedly drove against traffic recklessly, knocked down a pedestrian and escaped.

The command spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known via his Twitter handle on Thursday.

Hundeyin stated that the Lebanese crushed the leg of a lady, identified as Omotomi Akinsanya, on Wednesday morning on the Sanusi Fafunwa Road in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.

He noted that Greg drove against traffic, hit Akinsanya, and sped off.

The police spokesperson added that the Lebanese was immediately chased by passersby and motorists who arrested him and handed him over to the police.

Hundeyin stated: “On May 4, 2022, at about 7.45 a.m., a middle-aged Lebanese by name John Greg ‘m’ drove a Toyota 4Runner recklessly and against traffic on Sanusi Fafunwa Road thereby hitting one  Omotomi Akinsanya ‘f’ which resulted in serious injuries to her leg.

“He sped off but was chased and arrested. Suspect in our custody. Vehicle impounded and in our station.

“Victim undergoing treatment at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). Victim’s family duly informed. Embassy of Lebanon duly informed. Investigation ongoing,” he said.
