The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspected female kidnapper and rescued three pupils from her in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this in a statement, said the case was reported to Area M Police Command in Idimu by one Segun, the headmaster of a school (name withheld) in the Ijegun area of Lagos at about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Hundeyin said the headmaster reported that some unknown persons invaded the school and kidnapped three pupils on the school premises in Lagos.
The police spokesperson noted that upon the information, detectives from the area immediately moved to the school.
He said: “The culprits were given a hot chase, where one of the suspects, 40 years old female (name withheld), who allegedly kidnapped three pre-nursery children was arrested.

“The three children were rescued. However, the other unknown suspects escaped with an unregistered motorcycle on sighting the police.
“The victims, who are between ages four and six have been reunited with their families and the suspect is in police custody.”
Hundeyin added that an investigation revealed that the arrested suspect allegedly kidnapped the pupils for criminal purposes.
The police spokesman noted that the woman and others at large had a standby motorcycle waiting for them to carry the pupils away but unfortunately, luck ran out of one of them.
He said the police were on the trail of others at large.
Hundeyin advised all school management, particularly nursery/primary schools to ensure strict security in their facilities, with every visitor properly screened before accessing the premises.
