Police recover baby abandoned on Lagos road

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have recovered a day-old baby abandoned on Alhaji Masha Road in the Surulere area of the state.

The command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Hundeyin said a social worker attached to a hospital in Surulere reported the recovery of the baby to the police on Monday, April 15.

According to him, the social worker reported that the baby was found inside a polythene bag and abandoned by unknown person(s) on the road in Lagos.

The police spokesperson added: “The baby was evacuated and taken to Randle General Hospital, Surulere, and is responding to treatment.

“Investigation into the incident is ongoing.”
