The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has summoned the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to Abuja as part of an ongoing investigation into a violent incident that marred Sallah festivities in Kano.
A clash reportedly involving members of Sanusi’s entourage led to the death of a vigilante member, while others were injured on March 30, 2025.
The operatives of the Kano State Police Command later arrested a 20-year-old suspect, Usman Sagiru, in connection with the clash.
Authorities also launched an inquiry into the incident and invited the Shamakin Kano, Wada Isyaku, for questioning.
However, the NPF, in a letter dated April 4, 2025, and signed by the Commissioner of Police (Operations), Olajide Ibitoye, said Sanusi should appear at the Force Intelligence Department headquarters in Abuja at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8.
