Controversial singer, Habeeb Olalomi, fondly called Portable, has surrendered to police operatives after he was declared wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials carrying out their lawful duties in Ogun State.
It was gathered that Portable turned himself in at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Yaba on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
This was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.
“Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up,” Hundeyin said.
The Ogun State Police Command had declared the singer wanted for allegedly attacking government officials in the state.
Portable: I’m a madman, certified psychiatric patient
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, announced this in a statement on Monday, February 17.
Odutola disclosed that the incident occurred at about 10 a.m. on February 5, 2025, when three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office – TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi – were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota and encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar in the area.
Portable later declared himself a madman, who needs help.
Portable revealed that he receives treatment for his mental health at Aro Psychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, where he is one of the patients.
In a heartfelt plea via videos on Instagram on Tuesday, February 18, Portable said he is a certified psychiatric patient.
