The Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, on Friday, lost his bid to represent Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives in 2023.
Ahmad contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya, the lawmaker representing the constituency in the House of Reps.
Although official declaration is yet to be pronounced but The Star reports that Ahmad polled 16 votes while Gaya scored 106 votes.
Before the conclusion of the primary election, Ahmad alleged irregularities and use of thugs to disrupt the process, describing the situation as unacceptable.

“As an aspirant, I left the venue of primary election for Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Federal Constituency, because of the security of our majority delegates, if want (sic) to compete with the best, thugs shouldn’t be part of any election,” the presidential aide wrote on his verified Facebook page.
Ahmad was recently seen everywhere romancing with Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, in his efforts to have blessings and endorsement of the governor.
