Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Katagum Local Government Area of the state due to the breakdown of law and order in the ongoing nationwide protest.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Kashim, on Monday, August 5, 2024.
Kashim said the measure was necessary to stop the deteriorating security situation in Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area and its environs, following vandalism and looting of public properties.
The SSG noted: “Governor Bala Mohammed has approved the imposition, with immediate effect, of a 24-hour curfew in Katagum LGA in order to contain the situation.
