The senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Abdulaziz Yari, is set to distribute 358 trucks of assorted food items made up of rice, sugar, and maize to the people of the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the chairman of publicity committee, Ibrahim Muhammad, on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Muhammad said the foodstuffs would be distributed to the residents irrespective of political climes to allow them begin the forthcoming Ramadan with relative ease.
He noted that the arrangement has been perfected under the main distribution committee headed by Lawal Liman who is also the chairman of A A Yari Political Organization.
According to him, 17,500 households from each of the 13 out of 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara State will receive the food items, while 22,500 households are targeted in Gusau Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking on the development, Liman revealed that three additional items such as rice, sugar, and millet were added to the previous programme that saw to the distribution of only maize because of the significance of Ramadan.
He said more than 98 per cent of the commodities were transported to various Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, making it easy for the beneficiaries to get the palliatives in a short time.
The chairman maintained that the beneficiaries of the palliatives must be needy, especially orphans, widows, and divorcees.
He added that the distribution would begin on or before Ramadan and urged the people to continue praying for Yari, a former governor of Zamfara, and the country at large.
