Robbers attack, rape Ilaro poly students, cart away valuables

Some armed robbers have reportedly invaded apartments of students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State.

It was gathered that the armed robbers, numbering about eight, also raped female students and left with valuables which include mobile phones, laptops, and money.

It was further learnt that the assailants, on Saturday night, attacked off-campus students in School 2 and Deuteronomy areas of Ilaro community.

A student, who craved anonymity, disclosed that one student was hit by a bullet in the eye after the armed robbers fired gunshots to gain entry into the students’ apartments.

He said: “They broke into buildings to rob. They fired shots, broke the burglary proof to gain entrance into buildings. One of the students was hit by a bullet in the eye.

“They raped female students and made away with their valuables. We are crying out for help. We have been on this for over a week now.
