Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended a chef, Hilda Baci, over an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time.
Hilda, 27, on Thursday, May 11, set up a four-day ‘cook-a-thon’ at Amore Gardens in the Lekki area of Lagos State to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time.
The current record for the world’s longest cooking marathon is held by Lata Tondon who completed the task in 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs in Rewa, India, in 2019.
Sharing pictures of his visit to the chef via his social media accounts on Sunday, May 14, Governor Sanwo-Olu promised to continue to support Hilda on the move to break the Guinness World Record.

He stated: “I showed up to support Chef Hilda Baci, in her quest to break the Guinness World Record for the longest time spent cooking by an individual.
“Her dedication, passion for cooking as well as her desire to put our rich culture on the map by not only exhibiting our food but also the resilience, determination, energy, and team spirit that has come to be known as the spirit of Lagos and indeed Nigeria is truly remarkable.
“We are proud to have Hilda embarking on this journey in our state. I will continue to follow the updates and look forward to the final declaration.”
Hilda has exceeded 69 hours in her attempt to break the record as of the time of filing this report.
