Senator representing Kaduna Central, Uba Sani, has stated that there was no crisis between Governor Nasiru El Rufai of Kaduna and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
He described the allegation as “malicious and borne out of ignorance” of the cordial relationship that exists between Tinubu and El-Rufai.
There have been reports of frosty relationship between the duo over the choice of Senator Kashim Shettima as vice presidential candidate.
Sani, who is the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Kaduna State, on Friday, debunked insinuations that there was friction between the two, saying Kaduna State will give the highest votes to the Tinubu-Shettima presidential ticket.
The federal lawmaker said El-Rufai as their leader will work for the success of the APC presidential candidate because “El-Rufai reigns supreme” in Kaduna State.
Sani gave the assurance at the official inauguration of Shettima as the Chairman, Arewa Women for Tinubu, organized by the support group.
2023: Kaduna’ll deliver highest votes for Tinubu – Sani
Sani assured that Tinubu will win his presidential election with the highest winning votes emanating from Kaduna.
Sani said when the news broke that Shettima had been selected as Tinubu’s running mate, El-Rufai was one of the few individuals that reached out to the Senator to congratulate him.
“I am here to also deliver a goodwill message from my brother, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.
“I want to also say that El-Rufai is totally in support of our brother, His Excellency, Sen. Kashim Shettima; we have worked together, we are brothers and we are friends.
“Unfortunately, some people obviously ignorant of the cordial relationship between El-Rufai and Shettima tried to spread false news about them especially using the social media.
“I assure you and I stand to be quoted that Kaduna State will deliver the highest votes for the Tinubu/ Shettima ticket in 2023,” Uba said.
