Some candidates of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Osun State have announced plans to hold a mega rally for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, in the state.
This was disclosed via a statement issued on Monday by the NNPP candidate for Ifelodun State Constituency, Muideen Afolabi, on behalf of eight other House of Assembly candidates.
Afolabi said the rally was planned by the NNPP House of Assembly candidates in collaboration with other National Assembly candidates who earlier dumped the party’s presidential candidate, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The four National Assembly and nine House of Assembly candidates of the party, in September 2022, dumped Kwankwaso for Tinubu.
“In collaboration with other National Assembly candidates who earlier dumped Kwankwaso, nine of us, House of Assembly candidates, are set to organise a mega rally for Tinubu where masses of Osun would be convinced on why they should support him.
“Less than 2 months to the 2023 polls, NNPP has not been campaigning for the presidential candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and other candidates contesting the poll in Osun. We can’t wait any longer.
“We commend Secretary, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, for always giving us listening ears and for embracing us, having discovered our ability to deliver Osun for Tinubu,” Afolabi stated.
