A former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, has officially dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The incumbent senator representing Kano Central dumped the NNPP barely three months after joining the party from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shekarau made the declaration on Monday at his Mundubawa home in Kano.
He was formally received into the PDP by the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, among other bigwigs.

Others were former Vice President Namadi Sambo; PDP BoT Chairman; former governors of Jigawa, Saminu Turaki, and Sule Lamido; among others.
