Shettima to represent Tinubu at 79th UNGA in U.S.

President Bola Tinubu will not attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York, the United States, this year.

Tinubu has however directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to lead Nigeria’s delegation.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made this known in a statement on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Onanuga noted that President Tinubu, who returned to Nigeria last Sunday after his trip to China and the United Kingdom, wants to focus on domestic issues and address some of the country’s challenges, especially after the recent devastating flooding.
