An Area Court sitting in Jos, the Plateau State capital, has sentenced a student, Weng Pam, to six months imprisonment, for stealing home theatre and clothes worth N150,000.
The presiding judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
The judge however gave the student an option of fine of N30,000 as well as to pay a compensation of N50,000 or another six months imprisonment in default.
Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Inspector ijuptil Daniel, told the court that the case was reported at the B Division Police Station in Bukuru on December 14, 2024, Jerry Pam.

He added that during police investigation, the convict confessed to have committed the offence.
He said the offence contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.
