Sule Lamido University (SLU), KafinHausa in Jigawa, has matriculated 3,040 students for 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic sessions.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Lawan Sani, said that 1,494 students registered out of the 1,585 admitted for 2021/2022 academic session.

“For the 2022/2023 session, a total of 1,546 students registered out of the 1,670 admitted thereby bringing the total of 3,040 fully registered students for this matriculation,” he said.

He said the matriculation was to initiate the registered students as full pledged members of the university academic community.

The VC, who congratulated the new students, assured them that they have joined the community of dedicated teachers, scholars and researchers whose objective was to learn, create and disseminate new knowledge for the betterment of humanity.

He enjoined the students to take advantage of their entry into the university to develop themselves in terms of character and learning, to enable them to become productive members of the society.

Sani also highlighted some of the feat achieved by the institution to include establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources Management; Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, Faculty of Social and Management Sciences and addition of six programmes in the Faculty of Education.

He said the university’s main library and those in the faculties had been stocked with research materials in hard and soft copies for use by the students

While reiterating commitment to conducive teaching and learning environment, Sani advised the students to make the best use of their stay in the university to achieve academic excellence.

The matriculation oath was administered by the Registrar of the university, Adamu Muhammad, while members of the University Senate and JAMB Coordinator in the state, Bello Aminu, attended the event.
