Multichoice, the parent company of DStv, says its SuperSport channel will broadcast the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
Multichoice made this known in a post on its X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
“🇳🇬No gree for anybody! Watch all 52 matches of the #afcon2023 on @supersports,” it said.
The company had, last Wednesday, said it would not broadcast the 2023 AFCON, noting that it failed to secure the rights to broadcast the tournament, which would hold between January 13 and February 11, 2024.
It stated: “SuperSport Channel will not broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 scheduled for January 13th – February 11th, 2024, because the channel has not secured the rights to broadcast the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), on Wednesday, announced it would be broadcasting all the AFCON matches.
NTA made this known on its X account, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afro Sports.
“NTA signs Memorandum of Understanding with Afro Sports for transmission of 52 matches of Africa Cup Of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire,” it stated.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, and Equatorial Guinea in Group A of the tournament.
