Scores of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have begun to storm the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to welcome the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, who is expected to return to the country on Monday, April 24.

Tinubu left Nigeria for France on Tuesday, March 21.

The President-elect, in a statement issued by his media aide, Tunde Rahman, said he travelled abroad to rest and plan his transition programme ahead of his inauguration on May 29, 2023.

The former two-term governor of Lagos State added that he was prepared to leave France for Saudi Arabia for Lesser Hajj and the Ramadan Fasting which commenced on Thursday, March 23.

However, the Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke, said Tinubu will return to Nigeria on Monday, noting that the President-elect will land at the presidential wing of the Abuja airport in Abuja by 2 p.m.

Faleke made the disclosure via a statement issued on Monday.

The statement read: “My dear brothers and sisters of this unique family. I wish to inform and request of us all that anyone in Abuja and Nasarawa is invited to join in receiving our Peoples President and First Lady Elect today by 2 p.m. at the Presidential wing of the International Airport.

“Departure Time: 2 p.m.

“Departure Venue: The Campaign Office.

“Accreditation time: 12 p.m.

“Buses will be provided. Only Accredited persons will be allowed at the airport for security reasons.”
