Gunmen suspected to be terrorists have abducted no fewer than five female students of the Federal University Dutsinma, (FUDMA) in Katsina State.
The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, said the students were kidnapped after the terrorists invaded their hostel behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial School in Dutsinma.
Aliyu disclosed that the incident occurred at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

He said the police have arrested one person suspected to be supplying information to the terrorists who abducted the students.
The police spokesman added that efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims unhurt.
Both male and female students of the university are living off-campus due to insecurity.
