Thieves steal $500,000 jewellery at Giroud’s house in U.S.

About $500,000 of jewellery was allegedly stolen from the home of France and MLS side Los Angeles FC striker Olivier Giroud in a burglary in the United States.

Law enforcement sources said Giroud’s wife reported a break-in on February 5 after she discovered a shattered window on the property.

She reported the theft of more than 10 men’s watches among several valuable items taken and estimated the price of the stolen items at about $500,000, TMZ reported on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it continues to investigate the matter but no arrests have been made.

Giroud sets record as France thrash Poland 3-1 to reach World Cup quarter-finals

Former Arsenal, Chelsea, and AC Milan striker Giroud, who won the 2018 World Cup with France, joined LAFC last year.

The 38-year-old Frenchman, his national team’s all-time top scorer, helped LAFC win last year’s US Open Cup title.

Star National Football League quarterback Joe Burrow, of the Cincinnati Bengals, National Basketball Association guard Ty Jerome of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Falcons cornerback Antonio Hamilton are among other U.S. sports standouts who have suffered recent burglaries, with some break-ins matching times they were playing in games on national television.
