Three months after appointment, Tinubu suspends NSIPA National Coordinator

The National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA), Ms Halima Shehu, has been suspended.

President Bola Tinubu approved Shehu’s immediate suspension and investigation over alleged financial malfeasance.

Her suspension is coming less than three months after her appointment’s confirmation by the Senate.

Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager, has been appointed as acting NC/CEO pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Shehu was the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development between 2017 and 2022.
