The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has met with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
Although the details of the meeting had yet to be ascertained, The Star gathered that it may not be unconnected with the controversy trailing the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket ahead of the 2023 general election.
Tinubu, a Muslim, had picked a former governor of Borno State, Sen. Kashim Shettima, who is also a Muslim as his running mate, leading to the ruling party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
Following the controversy trailing the ticket, it was gathered that the APC presidential candidate set up a team of prominent persons with whom he was scheduled to meet the Christian leaders within the party and faith-based organisations like the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Catholic, to appeal to them and secure their support ahead of the 2023 polls.

It was further learnt that Tinubu decided to lead the team to appeal to the Christian faithful in the country.
However, it was gathered that the two-term former Lagos State Governor met with Adeboye at the Redemption camp on Sunday.
A credible source, who craved anonymity, disclosed that Tinubu’s meeting with Adeboye was very fruitful, adding that the revered cleric was not against a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
The source further stated that the APC presidential candidate would soon meet with CAN leadership.
“He met Adeboye on Sunday. The meeting was very fruitful. He is not against Muslim-Muslim ticket,” the source disclosed.
It was further gathered that Tinubu was accompanied to the meeting by his wife, Senator Oluremi, who is a pastor at the church.
