President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of three new Executive Commissioners at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) pending their confirmation by the Senate.
They are Bashir Indabawa, (North-West), Executive Commissioner, Exploration and Acreage Management; Enorense Amadasun (South-South), Executive Commissioner, Development and Production; and Babajide Fasina (South-West), Executive Commissioner, Economic Regulation and Strategic Planning.

Tinubu also approved the redeployment of Dr Kelechi Ofoegbu (South-East), Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services and Administration.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Ngelale stated that the appointments were aimed at establishing a regulatory framework and culture that comprehensively disincentives errant behaviour and incentivises diligence and rules-based business practice across the industry.
