Tinubu appoints Gen. Ja’afar Isa as Almajiri Commission ES

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Brigadier-General Lawal Ja’afar Isa (Rtd) as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.

The President also approved the appointment of Alhaji Tijani Hashim Abbas as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Chieftaincy Matters.

General Ja’afar Isa is a respected leader and was Military Administrator of Kaduna State from 1993 to 1996, while Alhaji Tijani Hashim Abbas is the Sarkin Sudan Kano.

In a related development, Tinubu has appointed Mrs. Zubaida Umar as the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

She was Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Services at the Federal Mortgage Bank.

The new Director-General of NEMA has over 20 years of work experience in diverse fields, including Human Resources, Finance and Administration.

Mrs. Umar is the first woman to be appointed as Director-General of the agency.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and the Institute of Credit Administration.

She holds ACCA certifications in Public Financial Management and Digital & Sustainability Financing.
