President Bola Tinubu has appointed fresh 19 ministerial nominees.
The new ministerial nominees are: Ahmed Tijani, Bosun Tijani, Dr Mariam Shetty, Ishak Salako, Tunji Alausa, Tanko Sununu, Atiku Bagudu, Bello Matawalle, Ibrahim Geidam, Simon Lalong, Lola Adejo, Shuaibu Abubakar, Senator Sabi Abdullahi, Tahir Mamman, Alkali Ahmed, Senator Henekeins Lokpobori, Gboyega Oyetola, Uba Maigari and Zephaniah Jissalo.
Five of the new ministerial nominees are former governors — Oyetola (Osun), Lalong (Plateau), Matawalle (Zamfara) and Gaidam (Yobe).
The new nominees will be screened on Friday.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the Presidential communication at plenary on Wednesday, August 2nd.
Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, brought in the communication from the President during plenary while a ministerial nominee, Lateef Fagbemi, was being screened.
The President has so far submitted 47 ministerial nominees.
The President had on Thursday, July 27, 2023 nominated 28 ministers.
