President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, met with state governors elected in 1999, otherwise known as “The class of 1999 governors”, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The former governors in attendance were Niyi Adebayo (Ekiti), Donald Duke (Cross River), James Ibori (Delta), Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), Sam Egwu (Ebonyi), and Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia).
Others included Chimaroke Nnamani (Enugu), Ibrahim Saminu Turaki (Jigawa), Adamu Muazu (Bauchi), Olusegun Osoba (Ogun), Obong Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom), Bisi Akande (Osun), Jolly Nyame (Taraba), Attahiru Bafarawa (Sokoto), Joshua Dariye (Plateau), and Ahmad Yerima (Zamfara).

Tinubu was the governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
The president also met with the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulkarim Chukkol.
