President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of a former member of the House of Representatives, Cairo Ojuogboh.
The Star had reported that Ojuogboh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, died after slumping on Wednesday night.
He was said to have slumped while watching the semi-final clash between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
He represented Ika Federal Constituency of Delta State in the House of Representatives.

Speaking on the former lawmaker’s demise on Thursday morning, Tinubu, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, condoled with Ojougboh’s family and the government and people of Delta State over “this tragic loss”.
While praying for the peaceful repose of the departed, President Tinubu “comforts his family” and urged them to “find strength and hope in God Almighty, who presides over the affairs of men, as well as in the cherished memories and legacy of the late APC chieftain.”
Ojuogboh was a member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007.
He was also a former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
