The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will today, November 25, meet with former militant leaders in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
Tinubu and his team would hold a strategic discussion with High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo on Friday.
Tompolo was the former leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND). His company recently got a N48 billion oil pipeline surveillance contract from the NNPC Limited.
The meeting is scheduled to hold in Oporoza, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Tinubu was in Warri last weekend.
Tompolo wields tremendous influence in the politics of Delta State. In fact, he reportedly nominated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s deputy, Kingsley Otuaro.
According to sources familiar with the visit, the APC presidential candidate will pay homage to the Pere of Gbaramatu kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba.
