Troops raid weapon fabrication factory, arrest 2 gunrunners in Taraba

The troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have raided a weapon fabrication factory at Wukari in Taraba State and apprehended two suspected gunrunners.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, made the disclosure via a statement issued on Saturday, April 29.

Danmadami said the troops, while acting on credible intelligence, on Friday, April 28, recovered two GPMG, one KPM, four AK 47 rifles, three pistols, one PKT, five 9mm ammunitions, two 7.63 x 54 ammunitions, seven rifle butts, and several parts of different rifles.

He said the arrested gunrunners, recovered weapons, and ammunition were handed over to appropriate authorities for further action.

“The military high command commends troops of Operation Whirl Stroke and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on terrorists and all criminal activities within their area,” he added.
