The troops of Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), Nigerian Army, have rescued 35 kidnapped victims abducted in Katsina State.
The troops also neutralised two terrorists.
This was contained in a statement by the spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, on Monday, January 29, 2024.
Ibrahim said the rescue operation was in continuation with the series of simultaneous coordination in its areas of operational responsibilities in the North West which, he said, has continued to yield tremendous success.

He stated that the feat was achieved during a clearance operation on some identified terrorist camps at Dumburum forest in Katsina State on Saturday, January 27.
“During the operation, troops had an encounter with the armed terrorists, neutralising two of the terrorists while others escaped with severe gunshot wounds,” he noted.
Ibrahim added that the rescued victims comprising 19 males, 12 females, and four children were handed over to the Katsina State Government by the Commander 17 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 2 Operation Hadarin Daji, Brigadier General OA Fadairo, who pledged to continue the attack on the terrorist enclaves.
