Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Ebonyi South.
The governor clinched the senatorial ticket which was earlier secured by his younger brother, Austin Umahi.
Austin had earlier won the primaries held at Afikpo North local government area headquarters on May 28.
Governor Umahi had failed to clinch the presidential ticket of the ruling party, polling 38 votes.

The APC national leader and former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, emerged as the party’s presidential candidate with 1271 votes.
However, after Governor Umahi failed to secure the presidential ticket, the APC cancelled the earlier primary election and rescheduled it for Thursday night.
The governor clinched the APC’s senatorial ticket for Ebonyi South in the rescheduled primary election held at the Afikpo North Local Government Council.
