Unilorin alumni donate 75-capacity seat-out to Faculty

The 1992 set of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin (Unilorin), has donated a 75-capacity seat-out to their Faculty to enhance learning in the institution.

The chairman of the set, Bayo Busari, who spoke at the presentation, called on the university to accept the donation as a token.

While promising that the alumni will do more in the future, Busari stated that 36 of the 110 former students in the set were present at the event, disclosing that six members of the set had passed on.

In his remarks, the Unilorin Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, appreciated the 1992 set for coming back after 30 years of graduation to give back to their alma mater.

Egbewole, however, called on other sets to borrow a leaf from the1992 set and other previous donors in responding positively to the needs of their Faculties.

He added that the gesture would serve as a motivation to other sets to donate materials and equipment that could create a positive drive in training students.

On his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Olayinka Karim, noted that the 1989, 1992, and 1994 sets have been of great assistance to the Faculty for their generous contributions in several capacities to uplift the standard of the Faculty.

Karim also called on other alumni of the Faculty to emulate the gesture of the donors and give back to the citadel of learning that moulded them to their present status.

Also speaking on behalf of the students of the Faculty, the President of the National Association of Agricultural Students (NAAS), Unilorin Chapter, Aromoye Abdullateef, appreciated the 1992 alumni of the Faculty, assuring all present that the seat-out will be put to proper use.
