The management of University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) in Kwara State has debunked a report being circulated of kidnapping in the institution.
A report had, last weekend, emerged that Moyosore Bright, a 100-level student in the Department of Zoology, was kidnapped by gunmen.
UNILORIN management, in a statement issued by the Director of Corporate Affairs of the university, Kunle Akogun, on Monday, January 29, 2024, declared that the institution is safe for all academic and non-academic activities.

Akogun stated: “The management of UNILORIN viewed with grave concern last weekend’s story about one of its students (Moyosore) of being kidnapped as a ruse and figment of the imagination of the rumour mongers.
“It is important to state that the said student is hale and hearty, and her purported abduction was a ruse and figment of the imagination of the rumour mongers.
“The management assures the public that its campus is safe for learning, research, and community service, in pursuit of its tripartite mandate.”
He added that the student met with the university management and had already resumed classes.
