Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, will emerge the 10th Senate President on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo, who is the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), made the disclosure on Monday, June 12 after a parley with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
Uzodinma also the declared that the outgone President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, has agreed to work for the emergence of Akpabio.
Uzodinma, Lawan, Akpabio, Chief of Staff designate and former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano were at the parley.
The governor stated that the committee put in place by President Tinubu to resolve the controversy over the race for presiding officers of the National Assembly had made substantial progress.
On his part, Akpabio promised of a united 10th Senate under his leadership.
