A yet-to-be-identified dispatch rider has been nabbed in the Sangotedo area of Lagos State with a baby inside his courier box.
The incident was disclosed via a video posted on Twitter in the early hours of Saturday.
The dispatch rider was seen in the video beaten by an angry mob.
“This is the child that was abducted,” one of the persons in the background of the video was heard saying.
The alleged kidnapped baby and the rider were later taken away from the scene of the incident, with an indication that the people were heading to a police station.

Meanwhile, the circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction had yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
The incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu.
Ajisebutu said: “The command wishes to inform the public that the incident said to have taken place in Sangotedo area, Lekki, was not reported at any police station to enable the police to take appropriate actions.
“Notwithstanding that the incident was not reported, the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has directed that efforts should be intensified to locate the whereabouts of the alleged dispatch rider and the parents or guardians of the child to enable the police to investigate the incident.”
