In what appears as an endorsement for the 2023 presidency, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, at an event, offered his seat to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, saying “my job is done”.
Obasanjo, at an event to celebrate a national award given to the President of the African Export-Import Bank, Prof. Benedict Orama, called Obi who was sitting at table nine and led the LP presidential candidate to table one.
The former President, in a video obtained on Friday, walked to pick the ex-governor of Anambra State from his seat and said, “in the presence of Nigerians”.

Obasanjo after leading Obi to table one, said: “My job is done.”
The move was however applauded by the audience.
Although Obasanjo has not formally endorsed any candidate for the 2023 presidential election, political observers suggested that the former President has favoured Obi to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
The LP presidential candidate has had a series of closed-door meetings with Obasanjo in the country and in London, the United Kingdom.
