Barely two months after the Kaduna International Airport was shut, following an attack by suspected terrorists, commercial flights resumed operations at the airport on Monday.
The Star had reported that suspected terrorists, on March 26, attacked the Kaduna airport located in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The suspected insurgents numbering over 200 were said to have taken over the airport and killed one security officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency.
The attack, it was reported, forced the airport authority to temporarily shut down activities.
However, operations resumed at the airport on Monday as the first commercial flight since the attack landed at the airport at about 8am.

Some of the passengers, who spoke to newsmen, expressed delight over the resumption of operations at the airport.
One of the passengers, Abubakar Mustapha, said noticing about three patrol teams at the airport was “reassuring.”
Speaking on the development, the Kaduna airport manager, Amina Salami, also expressed joy at the resumption of operations at the airport, saying she was “very happy” about the reopening.
Salami, who disclosed that the airport authority made some moves which were unknown to the general public, added that the management was pleased with the security measures at the airport.
