The video of a local government chairman in Rivers State calling the state governor, Siminayi Fubara, a “foolish governor” has emerged online.
The video, which has since been eliciting reactions from Nigerians, showed that the local government chairman made the statement while addressing some members of a political party in Rivers State.
The chairman, in the video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Emma Ik Umeh on Sunday night, said: “Today, Fubara is a foolish governor, he is not a mumu governor, he is a foolish governor.”
The local government chairman who was not publicly identified, it was gathered, was at the centre of controversy in 2016 when he was reportedly publicly flogged by security operatives loyal to the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, during the rerun elections in the state.

The post has led to reactions with many agreeing with the local government chairman that Fubara was “a foolish governor” upon the claim that he had been laidback in his engagement with his political rivals, particularly his predecessor and the incumbent Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Speaking on the video, an X user, Alpha Salisu, said: “I don’t pity Fubara anymore. Since he can’t fight them or should one worry himself.”
Another user, Danee stated: “Sim Fubara is stomaching so much nonsense. Good luck to him.”
@Ralph said: “This is too much na, how can you say this in the public about a sitting governor.”
