Eleven communities ravaged by bandits in Sokoto State have received four trucks of food items donated by the senator representing Sokoto Central in the National Assembly, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Senator Wamakko donated the food items and financial assistance to the eleven communities ravaged by bandits in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Presenting the relief materials to the residents, the lawmaker sympathised with them over the incident, noting that the Federal Government was making a frantic effort towards tackling the insecurity bedevilling country.
Wamakko further expressed sadness on the number of persons displayed by banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling in Sokoto State.
He added that the insecurity bedevilling the country would soon be history, saying the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government was working assiduously to curb the current insecurity in the country.
The lawmaker, however, announced the donation of four trucks of assorted grains that contained 1500 bags of rice, millets, and garri.

He also announced the donation of an undisclosed amount of money to ease the hardship face by the IDPs.
Wamakko also announced the donation of five motorcycles to the members of the vigilante group in Goronyo Local Government for surveillance and routing operation in the area.
The federal lawmaker further pledged to renovate Mosques in the communities and also provide borehole for potable water in the area.
Speaking, the APC chairman in Goronyo Local Government Alhaji Kabiru Goronyo, thanked Senator Wamakko for the donations and assured him of their continued support.
The chairman further pledged to ensure justice and fairness during the distribution of the items donated by the lawmaker.
Wamakko was accompanied on the visit by the Sokoto APC chairman, Hon. Isah Achida, member of the State House of Assembly, Faruk Ahmad Rimawa, among others.
