The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, has dedicated the Women Making Impact Award that she received, to the women and girls of the state as well as those of Northern Nigeria.
Balarabe, in a message of appreciation on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, thanked Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani “for the opportunity to serve, for recognizing my voice and contributions.”
Balarabe, who received the Women Of Impact in Government and Politics Award by Arise News/Thisday Group on Monday, noted that the recognition was not just a personal honour “but a testament to the collaborative efforts of all those who strive every day to make Kaduna State and Nigeria a better place for all.”
She stated: “I’m particularly honoured to be among such a remarkable group of women who have dedicated their lives to public service and community development.
“As a Deputy Governor, I have witnessed first hand the power of determination, collaboration, and innovation. The challenges we face – be it in healthcare, education, or women’s empowerment – are substantial, but I firmly believe that with resilience and strategic planning, we can transform these challenges into opportunities.

“We need to continue to initiate and sustain programs focusing on education, health, and economic empowerment that target the most vulnerable in our society, and we must strive to create governance models that are inclusive, accountable, and transparent.”
Balarabe said the award “further fuels my belief that, together, we can break barriers and inspire future generations of women leaders who will rise to champion causes that matter.”
She also expressed gratitude to all members of Kaduna State Executive Council, especially the women among the council, and “my team at the Deputy Governor’s Office.”
The deputy governor also thanked “everyone in the employ of the Kaduna State Government who has in one way or the other, supported me through this journey.”
“I extend deep appreciations to my family and friends for the immense support they have given me through the years. May Allah bless you, reward you abundantly,” she added.
