The operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested a woman for allegedly killing her husband in the Pegi area of Abuja.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this via a statement on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
Adeh noted that police operatives attached to Pegi Police Division arrested the woman at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, following credible intelligence.
Adeh said the woman was arrested while attempting to flee with the belongings of her husband who was earlier declared missing for about three days.
The police spokesperson said the suspect was apprehended in a mini-truck by the police operatives.

Adeh stated: “Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted to killing her husband after a fight ensued between them.
“She subsequently led the police operatives to an uncompleted building where she had dumped the gruesomely burned body.”
The police spokesperson further stated that an investigation was ongoing, adding that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has affirmed that justice will be served in the matter.
Adeh quoted the police commissioner as urging Abuja residents to be wary of their environment and any report suspicious activities to the police.
