Zambian president meets Kumuyi, seeks national devt in Christian values

The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has met with Zambian President, Hakainde Hichilema, in the country.

Kumuyi met with President Hichilema alongside his wife, Esther Kumuyi, and Zambian Church Mother Bodies members, comprising Council of Churches and the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia on Friday afternoon.

According to a statement made available to The Star by the president on Saturday, September 30, 2023, the cleric and the president discussed the significance of national development being rooted in Christian values, adding: “This approach greatly assists citizens in leading honest lives, thereby reducing crimes such as corruption and other vices.”

Hichilema hailed Kumuyi’s unwavering commitment to church building and soul-winning for the past 50 years in Africa and beyond, urging the cleric to continue this noble mission.

He, however, declared his government’s steadfast dedication to promoting the preaching of the Gospel in Zambia, calling on pastors to “continue guiding us, under the trust of the people.”

“We commended the Zambian Church Mother Bodies for their unity in hosting this revered man of God. This act clearly demonstrates that the Body of Christ is unified in purpose in Zambia,” the president added.
