Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has ordered the construction of a new General Hospital in Damboa, Damboa Local Government Area of the state.
Zulum gave the order during a visit to the community on Thursday, June 1, saying the existing hospital is occupied by Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The governor said: “As you can see, the hospital premises is occupied by internally displaced persons. Therefore, we will construct a new hospital complex around the existing one, where, even after the IDPs leave, it will serve as an extension to provide medical services for the increasing needs of the growing population.”
He also approved the reconstruction and remodeling of the Government Secondary School in Damboa which was destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents.

Governor Zulum, who also visited Garjang in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, approved the reconstruction and fencing of two primary schools in the community.
The schools are Garjang Community Integrated Primary School and Garjang Central Primary and Junior Secondary School.
The governor visited Garjang alongside a UK-based Urological Surgeon, Prof. Baba Mallam Gana, who hails from the community.
Others in the governor’s entourage included the immediate past Special Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation Engr Ibrahim Idriss, and a project coordinator at the Multi Crises Recovery Project (MCRP) of the World Bank, Dr. Ali Umar Bashir.
